Terms of Service

Last updated October 6, 2026

Draft. This text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not final. It will be before Sidedoor opens to the public.

These terms govern your use of Sidedoor. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What Sidedoor does

Sidedoor helps you find professionals and their work email addresses so you can ask for short conversations. It acts on your behalf: you choose who to contact, and you send every email yourself from your own account. We never send email for you.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for having a legitimate reason to contact each person and for everything you send, including complying with the laws and the email provider rules that apply to you. Write honestly and respectfully, do not send bulk or repeated unsolicited email, and stop writing to anyone who asks you to.

Do not use Sidedoor to harass, deceive or spam anyone, to collect data for resale, or to build your own database of people or emails. You may not scrape, copy, export in bulk or resell the results. You may not share your account.

Searching is free, within fair use. To keep Sidedoor available for everyone we limit how many searches an account can run each day and how fast, and we may pause an account that searches in an automated way.

Accuracy

Information about people and email addresses comes from third parties and can be wrong or out of date. Every email address is labelled Verified, Likely or Best guess to show how much we know. A Best guess comes from a data provider and could not be confirmed by our own check; it is right about 4 times in 5, and if it bounces and you report it your credit is returned. We do not return addresses we cannot back up even that well. We do not promise that any address works or that anyone will reply. If an address bounces and you report it, we re-check the address ourselves: if the mailbox does not exist we return the credit. We may decline or review refunds that our check does not support.

Credits, plans and payments

One credit unlocks one person: their full name and work email. No email found means no charge. Each person gets free credits once, and accounts made to claim them again, or with disposable email addresses, may not receive them. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled and include a monthly allowance of credits that does not roll over.

Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the next billing date. If you cancel, your plan continues until the end of the period you paid for. If a payment fails, your paid plan pauses immediately and you move to Free until the payment succeeds; unused plan credits are kept while it is paused. A card dispute pauses the plan the same way. Payments are handled by our payment processor.

Removal requests

Anyone can ask to be removed from Sidedoor. We honor those requests, which may mean a person is no longer available to you or is hidden from your contacts.

Your content

You keep ownership of your profile and of the emails you write. You give us permission to use them only to provide the service to you.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or that put other people at risk.

Limits of liability

Sidedoor is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost opportunities, or for the actions of the people you contact. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes. Questions: contact@sidedoorjobs.app.
